We, as well as our part\u00adner PPG, stri\u00adve to use resour\u00adces effi\u00adci\u00adent\u00adly and dri\u00adve sus\u00adtaina\u00adbi\u00adli\u00adty throughout the value chain to pre\u00adser\u00adve and pro\u00adtect our envi\u00adron\u00adment. In 2020, PPG\u2019s glo\u00adbal ope\u00adra\u00adti\u00adons achie\u00adved reduc\u00adtions in ener\u00adgy, was\u00adte, water and emissions. <\/p>

PPG pro\u00addu\u00adces its pow\u00adder sus\u00adtainab\u00adly. This means that PPG\u2019s sup\u00adpliers must also focus on redu\u00adced water use and lower ener\u00adgy con\u00adsump\u00adti\u00adon. In 2020, PPG used 14.5 mil\u00adli\u00adon cubic meters of water in the pro\u00adduc\u00adtion of its pow\u00adder coa\u00adtings. This is 19.2% less water than in 2019, and PPG is stri\u00adving to use less water in sub\u00adse\u00adquent years as well. PPG\u2019s ener\u00adgy con\u00adsump\u00adti\u00adon in 2020 was 2.8 giga\u00adjoules per ton in pro\u00adduc\u00adtion, a decre\u00ada\u00adse of 11.3% from 2019. PPG is also redu\u00adcing its green\u00adhouse gas (GHG) emis\u00adsi\u00adons pri\u00adma\u00adri\u00adly by redu\u00adcing ener\u00adgy con\u00adsump\u00adti\u00adon. In 2020, the com\u00adpa\u00adny emit\u00adted 760,000 tons of GHG, down 17.4% from 2019. <\/p>

PPG\u2019s glo\u00adbal rese\u00adarch and deve\u00adlo\u00adp\u00adment efforts crea\u00adte bre\u00adakthrough inno\u00adva\u00adtions that redu\u00adce ener\u00adgy con\u00adsump\u00adti\u00adon, cut emis\u00adsi\u00adons, incre\u00ada\u00adse resour\u00adce uti\u00adliz\u00ada\u00adti\u00adon and rai\u00adse living standards. <\/p>
