abre tech­nik Pul­ver­la­cke GmbH, based in Michel­bach a. d. Bilz, is a legal­ly inde­pen­dent com­pa­ny which was mana­ged by Gerd Bre­u­n­in­ger from its foun­da­ti­on in 1994 until 2020. In 2020, Niko­lai and Chris­to­pher Polk took over the com­mer­cial manage­ment. Mr. Bre­u­n­in­ger has with­drawn from the ope­ra­tio­nal busi­ness, but con­ti­nues to act as tech­ni­cal direc­tor and con­sul­tant. 

Des­pi­te its inde­pen­dence, the busi­ness is firm­ly inte­gra­ted into the Euro­pean Dis­tri­bu­tor Net­work and is one of the most important cor­ner­stones of this dis­tri­bu­ti­on net­work. The umbrel­la of the Euro­pean Dis­tri­bu­tor Net­work is for­med by the com­pa­ny PPG Indus­tries, Inc. with head­quar­ters in Pitts­burgh, USA. PPG is one of the world’s lar­gest manu­fac­tu­rers of elec­tro­coats, liquid coa­tings, pretre­at­ment che­mi­cals and pow­der coa­tings. Among others, PPG sup­plies such well-known com­pa­nies as Daim­ler-Chrys­ler, BMW, Audi, Volks­wa­gen and Fer­ra­ri.  

PPG’s Regio­nal Pow­der Head­quar­ters Euro­pe was ori­gi­nal­ly a joint ven­ture bet­ween PPG and the com­pa­ny Bel­la­ria spa and was loca­ted in Feliz­za­no (AL), Ita­ly. Until 2020, this was also the pro­duc­tion site Euro­pe for PPG Envi­ro­cron® pow­der coa­tings. In the mean­ti­me, pro­duc­tion has been trans­fer­red to Cies­zyn in Poland.  

From this loca­ti­on, the legal­ly inde­pen­dent com­pa­nies of the Euro­pean Dis­tri­bu­tor Net­work, which dis­tri­bu­te PPG Envi­ro­cron® pow­der coa­tings throughout Euro­pe, are sup­plied, advi­sed and pro­vi­ded with labo­ra­to­ry sup­port.  

The con­stel­la­ti­on of a glo­bal­ly acti­ve com­pa­ny com­bi­ned with medi­um-sized com­pa­nies is ide­al, as it repres­ents a per­fect sym­bio­sis. The local­ly ope­ra­ting com­pa­nies absorb the cur­r­ents of the respec­ti­ve mar­ket bet­ter than a lar­ge cor­po­ra­ti­on and can the­re­fo­re adapt more quick­ly and agi­le­ly to chan­ging situa­tions. A cor­po­ra­te group, on the other hand, has more opti­ons with regard to basic tech­ni­cal rese­arch and the deve­lo­p­ment of cost-inten­si­ve new pro­ducts and tech­no­lo­gies. For this rea­son, the stra­te­gic alli­an­ce bet­ween PPG and the com­pa­nies of the Euro­pean Dis­tri­bu­tor Net­work is desi­gned for the long term and gives our cus­to­mers the secu­ri­ty of being ser­ved by fami­li­ar com­pa­nies for years to come, while still being able to par­ti­ci­pa­te in the gene­ral tech­no­lo­gi­cal pro­gress.
